Tixx.com has been selling tickets for American Idol for less than face value for weeks now so it is now surprise to us that Several dates have been slashed from the American Idols Live! Tour, which kicked off just before the Fourth of July weekend with a stop in Michigan on Friday. As the season-nine contestants continue to make their way across the country, an updated tour schedule posted on the Tixx.com website shows that seven dates have been canceled.

The revised concert schedule also reflects an earlier finale for the tour, wrapping now on August 31 in Indianapolis instead of on September 16 in Portland, Maine, as previously planned. Shows in cities including Buffalo, New York; Portland, Oregon; Kansas City, Missouri; and Cleveland have all been nixed. Canadian stops in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Toronto have also been cut.

The tour, featuring finalists from the ninth season of the amateur talent juggernaut, highlights “Idol” champ Lee DeWyze and runner-up (and fan fave) Crystal Bowersox. A spokesperson for Live Nation confirmed the cancellations to The Associated Press but declined to explain the reason for the schedule revamp.

The axed American Idols Live! Tour dates follow a rash of canceled shows by several major musical acts scheduled to hit the road this summer. The once-popular, female-fronted Lilith Fair was recently forced to scale back, cutting 10 tour dates because of poor ticket sales. Christina Aguilera postponed her tour until 2011 due to scheduling issues, as did U2, who pushed back their 360 Tour while lead singer Bono recovers from surgery.

Although no official reason has been given for the new tour schedule, interest in “American Idol” appears to be on the wane. Twenty-four million viewers tuned in to see DeWyze get crowned as the season-nine victor, but that tally marked the lowest finale rating since the final episode of the show’s 2002 debut season. In addition, DeWyze and Bowersox’s post-”Idol” offerings have seen slow sales; the season-nine singers have fared significantly worse on the charts than the season-eight breakout stars, winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert.

Eminem and Jay-Z concert tickets Yankees Stadium on sale now at http://www.tixx.com

The new Yankee Stadium will hold its first concert on Monday, September 13, with a doubleheader of JAY-Z and Eminem.

“We are thrilled that two of today’s most exciting music artists will headline the first-ever concert at Yankee Stadium,” said Chief Operating Officer Lonn Trost. “Yankee Stadium was built with this kind of mega-event in mind. It will undoubtedly be a memorable occasion for music fans around the world.”

While this event will serve as the Stadium’s first official concert, JAY-Z has previously performed at Yankee Stadium, singing his hit “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys on October 29, 2009, prior to the Yankees’ 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of the World Series.

The September 13 concert will be the second of a home-and-home series of shows for New York City-native JAY-Z and Eminem, who was raised in the Detroit metropolitan area, as the pair will also perform at Detroit’s Comerica Park on September 2.

An announcement will be made regarding the ticket on-sale date and ticket availability in the near future.

Seems like Christina Aguilera just announced her summer tour. And now she has canceled it.

here is the real scoop, she way overpriced her tickets. Christina Aguilera is a shed act and shed acts are supposed to play for the following prices lawn $25-30 , reserved seats $65 – $85 plus all the BS ticketmaster livenation fees.

According to a statement from Live Nation, the tour promoter, the singer felt she didn’t have enough time to rehearse because of her new movie, Burlesque, due out in November, and her new album, Bionic, to be released June 8. Her 20-date tour was set to begin in July.

New dates will be announced later this year, according to the statement.

U2 Postpones Tour as Bono Recovers From Surgery

An injury sustained by the U2 frontman Bono has forced the group to postpone its American tour and cancel its appearance at a major British rock festival while he recovers from emergency surgery on his back, Reuters reported.

On Friday the band announced that it would reschedule the North American opening date of its “360°’’ tour in Salt Lake City on June 3 after Bono was injured during a rehearsal and underwent surgery on his back in Munich. The tour has already grossed $109 million since it started last year and has been predicted to bring in the largest gate ever.

On Tuesday U2 said that it would have to reschedule dates through July 19, when the band was to perform at Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. In a statement on the band’s Web site, the group’s manager Paul McGuinness, said:
Our biggest and I believe best tour has been interrupted and we’re all devastated. For a performer who lives to be on stage, this is more than a blow. He feels robbed of the chance to do what he does best and feels like he has badly let down the band and their audience. Which is of course nonsense. His concerns about more than a million ticket buyers whose plans have been turned upside down, we all share, but the most important thing right now is that Bono make a full recovery. We’re working as fast as we can with Live Nation to reschedule these dates.
U2 also said it would cancel its performance at the Glastonbury Festival in Britain at the end of June. On the U2 Web site, Bono said: “I’m heartbroken. We really wanted to be there to do something really special – we even wrote a song especially for the Festival.”

Even after a spokesperson for Bret Michaels has said that they are “cautiously optimistic” about his attendance at the finale, good ol’ Bret still boarded a private jet headed for New York.

While en route to the Big Apple, the plane had to make a quick detour in Nashville after Bret “complained of a headache, lower back pain and some cramping in the legs.”

The rocker and his team felt it was okay to continue though, and he’s currently on his way to meet The Donald and face off against Holly Robinson Peete!

U2 lead singer Bono underwent emergency back surgery in Germany on Friday, according to the band’s website.

Bono (real name: Paul Hewson) sustained an injury while preparing for the next leg of U2’s 360-Degree tour. The 50-year-old Grammy winner is expected to remain hospitalized for the new few days.

Because of the operation, U2 has postponed their June 3 concert in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s unknown whether more dates will be canceled.

Mets Giving Free Tickets to Some Past Season-Ticket Holders

May 18 (Bloomberg) — The New York Mets are giving some former season-ticket holders free admission to this weekend’s games versus the New York Yankees in an effort to improve sagging attendance.

“We have invited a select group of former season- ticket holders to one of this weekend’s subway series games as a way of reconnecting with some of our long-standing customers,” the team said in an e-mailed statement.

Through 21 home dates at Citi Field, including one double-header, the Mets have drawn an average of 31,891 fans, which is 11th best among Major League Baseball’s 30 franchises. A season ago, when the Mets opened their new stadium, they averaged 38,941 fans, seventh best in baseball. The decline is the biggest of any team in the major leagues when compared with the same period last year.

The giveaway will be for high-priced premium seats that likely wouldn’t have sold, according to Newsday, which reported the Mets’ plans yesterday.
